The following posts represent an example of play. I would greatly appreciate it if everyone held to this general format.
Posts from the Narrator will include narration, of course, and NPC dialogue. Each time an NPC begins dialogue, it will be preceded by a small image of the NPC as in a traditional JRPG. Players do not need to precede dialogue with their character's portrait - as shown in this tutorial for clarity - as it should be the player's avatar. Player dialogue should, however, be set apart from character narration by starting a new line in the post and centering dialogue. Thoughts should be centered and italicized. Any questions directed to the narrator should appear at the bottom of your post preceded by an asterisk (*).

You travel south for the better part of a month through the dread plains of the Shadowlands before you finally spot your objective, Shiro Hiruma. You've gone nearly a week without food, and drinking too much of the Shadowlands' foul water made you vomit. You allow yourself to fall to your knees as our heart swells. The waist-high, grey grass of the field cuts at your exposed face and a thin line of blood trickles down your right cheek, but you hardly notice. After following leads from courtly gossipers, beggars, thieves, and dusty scrolls, your journey is nearly at its end. Your father's captors will be put to the justice of your blade at long last and you can return to the lands of your mothers and fathers a hero. Lurching, you struggle to stand. As you do, a figure wearing a white mask emblazoned with the black mon of the Spider Clan rises as well some 10 meters in front of you, previously concealed by the grass.  "Go no further, Lion. You are in Spider Clan territory and we shall not suffer your presence here." His voice is low and course from the effects of the Taint slowly rotting his throat and lungs away. "Turn back at once." |
